Don Stegall for NMPRA President - Q & AIf you have questions that you would like to ask, please send them to DonStegall@carolina.rr.com. Reasonable questions will answered and will be posted with your name or anonymously if so desired.
Q: What are your plans for the NMPRA web site? A: One thing is to move the NMPRA site to a reliable hosting company. The NMPRA site is down usually one or more times a week. Another thing is to create sub sites so that Districts and affiliate organizations have a place to put their stuff. I also want to take the calendar function out of the hands of the webmaster. Schedules change constantly, and the organizations should have the ability to adjust their schedules. The NMPRA forums have been very unreliable. Prior to creating the PylonWorld forums, I did due diligence on the forum software available. I quickly found that it takes a profession to manage forum software, so I partnered with a professional forum developer. The PylonWorld forums are up almost all of the time. I would like for the NMPRA forums to have the same reliability. Q: How do you plan to have the District VP's more involved? A: I will be setting up an email system that has advanced email and voting capability. This will allow almost all decisions to be placed before the District VP's. The above mentioned web sub sites will allow the District VP's to create more of a presence to draw in new participants in their districts. Q: Your inexperience in pylon racing invalidates you as a Presidential candidate. How can you possibly be effective as President. A: I am inexperienced at flying in pylon races. However, I have spent a lot of time learning about the planes, engines, and other skills needed to race. I've also spent a lot of time learning about the operation of races, and I've talked to and learned a lot from experienced racers. I believe that the position of President of the NMPRA demands a different set of skills than some people seem to understand. Leading an organization requires the ability to take on the hard questions. Even controversial topics. Marketing and promotional skills are especially important. My promotion of PylonWorld.com and the PylonWorld forums proves that I have the ability to bring people to the table.
Thank you for your vote,
