PylonWorld Racing Field for RealFlight G2 ----------------------------------------- This airport was created to simulate an AMA 3 pylon Long Course on a race day. This field was not designed to be compatible with the RealFlight Pylon Racing feature. It was optimized for plane visibility, realism, and high speeds. New features for V1-3A ---------------------- Added ability to view from "Overhead" and runway along fence line New features for V1-3 --------------------- Changed the default helicopter location. New features for V1-2 --------------------- A starting line. This makes it easier to reposition the take-off position. The spectator flag fences were upgraded to safety fences and more of them. New pilot positions for Lanes 1-4. Press F12 to pick a new flying position. How to Install -------------- Put the *.airport file into your RealFlight\Airports directory. Using this Airport ------------------ Since the pylons are not real tall, it is best to stay close to the ground. This makes judging the course easier. Because of the artificial perspective nature of the simulator, it is very easy to roll to far into the 2-3 turn. Of course it's easy to do in real life, too. Seeing the plane at the number 1 pylon can be tough unless you are using a plane with a light colored wing. Even then it is a good idea to try some zooming options. Try having the zoom kick in at 200-300 feet with a minimum aircraft size of 1.0. You can find this option on the View, Pilot and Viewport Options ... menu command. Click on the Viewport tab, and go to the Auto Zoom area. This gets you back to no zoom in time to judge the #2 turn better. Features -------- Named Positions where recently added to this field. Press F12 to bring up the list of named positions. The zoom on the views is x 1.5. If you switch to a named position, your view will be zoomed. If you switch to another non-named position, the zoom will remain set at the named position zoom level. If you want to get back to a Pilot position at a 1.0 zoom, you can pick that position from the list. Where to fly ------------ Obviously you can fly any plane on any RealFlight airport. To get the most realistic racing experience, try flying some racing planes on the PylonWorld airport. Go to www.PylonWorld.com and visit the R/C Simulator section, then to the RealFlight Racing section. Under the Planes section you will find some planes designed to fly like a variety of racing planes. Hold tight. :) Announcing RCPRO ---------------- RCPRO - International RC Pylon Racing Organization Are you interested in belonging to a pylon racing organization that will champion the interests of all model aviators involved in the sport of racing radio controlled aircraft?
